It’s our way to say thank you for your support, we had such an amazing response from people all over the world – thank you very much!! Our song “The Storm” has been released on Orkus! Compilation 93, a CD that comes with issue No. 10, October 2013 of the German music magazine Orkus! You can vote for the best Newcomer on the compilation – vote for us here! 🙂 We are proud of the following little review we got in the magazine:
“Ein Sturm zieht auf. Vielleicht weniger nasskalt, dafür aber in Form eines emotionalen Gewitters. Synthbeats und einfühlsame, starke weibliche Vocals lassen keine Wünsche offen. Wundervoll zum Tanzen sowie Schwelgen in Erinnerungen. Das norwegisch-deutsche Künstlerpaar hat ganze Arbeit geleistet!”
(Orkus Nr 10, Okt 2013, S. 104)
Our single contains two tracks, “The Storm” and “Fire”. We know that some of you gorgeous people waited a long time for this. We got really impatient as well and since we didn’t sell our souls to some kind of propaganda machinery we decided to make the songs available for download on Bandcamp on Friday the 23rd. All the other download-shops and the official release of the CD will follow end of September.
To shorten the wait to the release of our single “The Storm” we decided to upload a very special demo version on Soundcloud for you. Forglemmegei is the first song, Phoenix wrote in Norwegian. The name means the flower Forget-me-not. A symbol of remembrance. The Peacock Butterfly (Aglias io) picture was taken after its many visits in our studio. Amongst the things butterflies symbolize are love, souls, spirits and rebirth. The song is about the loss of a loved one.
Last night we recorded the last vocal-parts for the song “Fire”, the “B-Side” of our next single “The Storm”. There are still some vocals of the title-track missing, but we are very optimistic that we manage to record every part we need this week. Stay tuned for more news soon!
Here is an old song, written by Phoenix! Enjoy “Believed”:
Dear gorgeous people,
the Lightshifters work on a video for the song “Luminous”. Please be patient with us – we produce it all alone and there are still a lot of cuts and edits to be done. It should be finished next month, though. We’ll keep you updated!
Download and share “Luminous” here:
The Lightshifters are Phoenix (Norway) and Odradek (Germany).
